Miss Nellie Halstead , of Manchester , the British 220 yards sprint championwho smashed the world 440 yards record by two seconds last week , has come to London on her way to Southampton to join the liner Empress of Britian , by which the team is travelling to America and put in some last minute practice at Wallington , Surrey .
