Caption: First parachute jump by a dog .
The first parachute jump ever made by a dog was taken by an alsation in the service of the Red Army .
The dog , with special harness strapped to its body , floated to earth during a display in the Izmaylovsky Park , Moscow . The service dogs , which are used extensively by the Red Army border patrol , are trained to co-operate with Army parachutists . The cover is using parachutes to drop whole armies behind ' enemy lines ' and the employment of the dogs will give them additional means of communication for the animals will act as dispatch carriers .
